Presentation of the Holy Quran in Esperanto, which you viewed in the site “ Lanoblakorano.ir”and “lanoblakorano.mihanblog.com” is the translation that belongs to “Prof. Dr Italo Chiussi”.
Italo Chiussi (born in 1919 in Trieste, Italy and died in 1973=54 in frankfurt-am-mein, Germany), was an Italian Esperantist and a member of the Esperanto Academy.
He translated the Holy Quran into Esperanto and also wrote about the life of the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him).
In !974, after the Second World War, he as an Esperantist, along with his fellow-thinkers reconstructd the youth organization of the Italian Esperanto (later its head).
Doctor of mathematics and former student of the famous college in Italy (scoule Normale Superiore en Pizo), later became an applied mathematician and the manager of the German branch of the Italian Insurance Company.
At the middle of his life, Chiussi converted from Christianity to Islam, and translated the Holy Quran and other compilations.
As a multilingual, he knew French, English, German, Classic Arabic and also collected a selection of the – sayings of Islam.
After his death, his book named “ in the flank of the Prophet “ was published and he, as an Islamic prominent author, received the prize of “Fazl-e-umar Foundation”.
In 1969, he delivered a speech about “Esperanto and Islam”, in the 54th congress of the Summer International University in Helsinki(Finnland).
His one page article about “ Islamic Literature and Esperanto “, published in the August-July 1973 issue (page 129) of Esperanto.
His tomb is located in the Southern Cemetry( Germany, sϋd friendhalf) in Frankfurt.
After the translation of the Words of Allah, He was honoured and respected by people. God bless him.
It is notable that I, unlike my wish, have omitted some footnotes from his Quranic translation. I found that they are either long or some sources of which he has quotted, are nearly unreliable. I also sometimes changed names in Esperanto forms of persons, nations, prophets and religious books, etc. according to the Esperanto rules. This effort, however, won’t reduce value of that great man’s work.
I also thank to Prof.Dr “M.H.Saheb Zamani(MHSZ)”, famous Iranian author for his guidance and encouragement. He is a pioneer and father of the modern Esperanto movement In Iran. After 50 years of silence, he became the Iranian representative of Esperanto. He is also honoured and all time –member of UEA (Universala Esperanto-Asocio).
I would like also to extend my gratitude to:
Dr A.N.BaqirShahi, Mr A.A.Kousari, Mr S.N.Mozaffari, Mr Eng E.Alimohamadi, Mrs Eng E.Alimohamadi, Mrs Eng L.Azizi, Mrs Eng M.Amedi and other dear ones who helped me with their Espernato and computer works.
I also remember with gratitude my beloved wife, Mrs S.Amani for her inspiration and dedication.
Finally, I will be very pleased to hear opinions and comments from the readers regarding this book. I may use this information to enrich the text of this Quranic translation.
